|I grew up in Southern California. I was a chubby half mexican kid that had plans to be the next great pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. That was my path for most of my childhood. But as I got older I started realizing all of things I wanted to do besides baseball. Maybe it was the time spent in my dad's garage darkroom, looking at negs, editing through slides. It could have been my third grade teacher that taught me the love for art and music. Whatever or whomever it was I am glad I took the path I did. |
I am a very fortunate to be an artist. I really love what I do. I love taking photos, I love working with my hands. I need both of those things in my life. There is something really great about making something by hand. It may take longer, it may not be as easy, but it's special. Making things by hand is really important to me. Taking the time to make it right and achieving that level of craft is what I strive for.
I am continually trying to grow and challenge myself with each project. I love that there are no rules or directions. I love getting inspired by everything. I love getting inspired by seeing my girls play music, or a simple drawing that they do. I am a very lucky to be surrounded in life with creative people and projects that keep me always wanting to learn more.
